Multicast without PBX?

First my question:

Is it possible to configure T42 and T46 phones to page each other using multicast, without the PBX handling anything?

Now a little more explanation:
I have a customer we setup with 3CX as the phone system and about 35 T42's plus about 10 T46's. 3CX has a paging feature but it completely fails when more than 15 handsets are in the paging group. So, since there doesn't seem to be a solution for this for whatever reason on the 3CX side, I am thinking about going the Multi-Cast route.

I don't know much about multi-cast paging at this point so I am learning all I can.

One of my concerns with doing multi-cast paging is that the 3CX system and the Yealinks are on two separate subnets. Not knowing a lot about multi-cast, I am not sure it even works across subnets but, my guess is that it doesn't. If multi-cast won't work across subnets, then using it along with 3CX is not an option at all.

So, that leads me to the idea that, maybe, 3CX doesn't have to have anything to do with the multi-cast setup.

Can the Yealinks be setup to page across the same subnet they are on without the need for 3CX in the middle? If so, how would I go about setting this up?

Outbound "silent alarm" call

I have a user who is investigating a possible usage for his Yealink phones. I suppose it could best be described as a "silent reverse intercom" call. The idea is that a user could press a button and the phone would go into speaker phone mode and dial out, however it would not emit any sound - no ringback tone, no audio from the person at the other end. However, the person on the other end would be able to hear what's happening at the caller's end.

Setting aside whether this is a valid feature request, I am interested in the technical aspect of this challenge. Is it possible to make the phone do something like this, perhaps with XML browser functionality?

Blind transfer unsuccessful - W52P and Cisco Call Manager 9.1.2

I'm attempting to get a Yealink W52P working with Cisco's Call Manager 9.1.2. Everything is working as expected except for call transfers. The scenario is fairly basic:

Phone A calls the Yealink W52P who transfers to the call to Phone B.

I've also confirmed it occurs when the Yealink W52P initiates a call to Phone A and attempts to transfer the call to Phone B.

A call transfer is initiated either as a "blind transfer" where with an active call in progress on the W52P handset we press the Options key then Transfer, enter the destination number (72038) and press the Transfer key again to complete. Or a transfer is initiated as a "consultative transfer" where with an active call in progress on the W52P handset we press the Options key then Transfer, enter the destination number (72038) and press the Green Speaker button to initiate a second call. The second call connects successfully, we speak with the person on Phone B then press the Transfer key on the W52P handset again to complete the transfer.

"Blind transfer"s fail completely. The W52P indicates the transfer is complete with a "Call transferred" message on the display (I can see in SIP traces the correct exchange of REFER, ACK and NOTIFY) however it plays an audible BEEP BEEP BEEP indicating the call has terminated and the call to User A is terminated. User B never receives any incoming call notification.

"Consultative transfer"s work. The two call legs are successfully bridged and User A can speak with User B. However the W52P handset emits an audible BEEP BEEP BEEP indicating the call has terminated despite displaying a successful message.

Are you able to assist with getting blind transfers working? Removing the incorrect audible alert would also be great as it will confuse handset users making them believe the transfer was unsuccessful.

Yealink T49G Bluetooth

Hi Yealink.

We've been testing the new T49G.

First of all we must say that we feel its a mistake to remove the EHS port.
That means that our customers maybe need to buy new headsets.

I've been testing the bluetooth on a Savi 700 series, and when you try to transfer a call you disconnect the connection to the savi 700 series.

When you push the transfer button the Savi sees it as the call is finished. So i'm not able to talk to the one i've transferred to without starting the bluetooth channel again on the savi.

It must be the Yealink that sends the signal to the Savi that the call has finished?

Yealink T21P E2 fails to redial missed calls from history

When redialing those missing calls, the phone tries to authenticate with <username>@<ip> instead of <username>@<domain>, with <ip> being the ip address where the missed call came from.

It seems specific to this model (Yealink T21P E2 52.80.0.70), as redial works perfectly with all other models we could test (T20P, T21P, T26P, T28P) with similar default configuration.

Already tried suggestions from other threads to change account.X.cp_source (where X=1 in my case) to all possible values (0, 1 or 2) without any success.

Any other suggestions?

I found the instruction to recover the phone but nothing happened . Nothing show in the screen

Hi,

I have stored several entries in my phone book, but without the country code, for example "07822-1111111".

When I get a call from this number, the phone doesn't show me the associated name. It shows the "full" number, that is in my case "+4978221111111" (I'm from Germany).

If I change the number in the phone book to "+4978221111111", it works.

Is it possible to let the phone automatically resolve to the correct phone book entry without changing all the phone numbers in the phone book?

T48G units with OpenVPN through pfSense

I am trying to debug a problem with a phone that is being setup with OpenVPN.

The tunnel is up, I can ping the phone... If I call that extension, I can receive the call but the phone never registers... (No Service, flashing extension)

if I try to dial an extension from that phone, or dial feature (*97) or phone number... I get "unknown uri scheme". It also appears that there is no SIP communications in this case, nothing captured in the packets.

Any ideas?

T23G Recovery Mode

HI,

I have had to run recovery mode on a T23g Handset. All is communicating fine but i require the .bin & .rfs file It appears only the .rom file is available from the support download site.

When running the recovery i can see the handset communicating with the TFTP server but the handset registered network fail shortly after.

T48G stops working after firmware update

Phone originally running 35.73.0.50.rom

Prior to upgrade, multiple extensions to multiple asterisk servers working (this is a test phone)... connection is via router based site-to-site OpenVPN connection.

Upgraded to 35.80.0.70
After upgrade, no lines are registering. "unknown uri scheme".

Any idea why it would work before the update and then not work after?
