Automatic global reset?

$

Hi there,

We are working on software for an appliance that allows us to plug phones into it, just before shipping these phones to customers, so that they are in a known pre-configured state. We do this using the autoprovisioning mechanism, and it's working pretty well for us so far.

When a customer returns a phone to us, we might want to reconfigure it for a new customer. However, in order to safely do this, I would like to be able to reset all configuration options to their "empty" (or factory default) values to ensure that no information from the previous customer sticks around in the configuration. These settings might be business-sensitive or they could cause problems if they've customised things like proxy servers, different passwords and so on.

As the provisioning documentation says, fields can be reset to factory defaults by setting the field value to !NULL! or %NULL%. However, there are over a thousand available configuration options (if you include all the numbered accounts and so on), and I would not like to list all of them exhaustively in my application (and risk missing some, too!). Is there a way to completely reset a phone to factory defaults automatically? Preferably via the mac-specific or generic configuration file or through a DHCP option, but any other option that can be completely automated would be acceptable as well.

If that's not possible, is there a fool-proof hardware way of resetting the phones? I know the phone can be reset to factory defaults by pressing and holding the "OK" button, but I also saw that there's an option in the configuration that allows you to disable this.

DHCP lease renewal on T21p

Hi,

we have a mix of T21P phones and T42G phones. On the DHCP server (windows 2003 server) we keep getting the status "This address is already in use" on several leases. When we browse to the IP adres it is always a T21P. Never a T42G.
The lease duration on the DHCP scope is 8 days.
We have firmware version 34.72.0.75 on the T21P

I think the T21P is not doing a lease renewal and keeps using the IP adress. Resulting in a conflict when there is a dhcp request on the server.

custom.handset.auto_answer.enable not working

Dear,

In de Auto Provisioning Guide the setting "custom.handset.auto_answer.enable" is defined as:

"It enables or disables a user to answer incoming calls by lifting the handset from the charger cradle without having to press the off-hook key."

However, when I provision "custom.handset.auto_answer.enable = 0", afterwards, on lifting the handset from the charger, the phone still auto answers the phone.

The basestation has firmware 25.73.0.40
The handset has firmware 26.73.0.11

How should I configure this?

Thanks,
Samuël

I have a couple T22P phones, I have flashed the latest firmware 7.73.0.50 (I'm not sure when you would use the 193 version. I am using them with FreePBX and everything looks to be going well but the display annoyingly goes to the Yealink screen every 10 seconds or so then back to the normal display.. any ideas?

Thanks

Hi There

Can you please help me enter the correct settings in the Yealink W52P so I can use it with the Fritzbox 7490.

I have attached a screen shots of one of the settings I have tried already, I have tried multiple combinations of Register name and User name.

Also attached are the settings I have from the Fritz box.

Thanks in advance for any help received

BLF for GSM gateway

Hello,

we have Asterisk with 8-port GSM GW.

In this example mobile numbers will be: 111, 222, 333, 444... (company employees, 30 mobile numbers in total)

When the call operater answer on incoming call, she transfer to mobile 111 trought GSM GW (and now one channel is busy).

We want to see on our phone (BLF) that one GSM GW channel is busy. For example 111 is speaking.
For next call operater transfers to mobile 333... and so on

Now we need information on phone (red BLF) for number 111 and 333. When 111 or 333 hangs up, BLF will be green.

So far we have information on phone that we have channel on GSM GW busy but we don't know which user is speaking.

Any idea?

Note: it doesn't matter which SIM card GSM GW is using

sometimes it gets it wrong

guess what you need

think that you can't rely on it

presumably improvements can happen

Automatically display hyphens in the phone number

I have an AT&T desk phone that automatically uses hyphens in the phone number. For example, when an incoming call arrives it is displayed as:

801-555-1515

The Yealink phones display incoming calls as:

8015551515

Could you please add this functionality to a future firmware release?

Thank you.

Hi, I need to provide coverage to a LARGE area. I have the W52 base unit installed an an IP55 rated waterproof enclosure, with cat5 POE going to it.
I will be installing this on a small pole on side of a building.

Has anyone else installed these base units outdoors in such a way?
I know the unit "should" stay dry in the enclosure.

VPN configuration option 'fragment'

$

Hi,

The server which I'm trying to connect to with any of my Yealink phones requires the 'fragment' and 'mssfix' options, but it seems that the OpenVPN build that comes with the phones' firmware is compiled without 'fragment' support.

Code:
Oct 26 00:00:09 openvpn[602]: Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in /config/openvpn/vpn.cnf:9: fragment (2.2.1)

Extract of the config file:
Code:
fragment 1400
mssfix

By the way, OpenVPN 2.2.1 does support this option, so, is there a reason for having it disabled?

Best regards.

API Registration

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for me. I want to allow my CRM to change the phone registration information based on an extension associated with the CRM user. I know how to set DND, dial and transfer calls via the API, but I can't figure out how to change the SIP registration info on the fly.

Incoming calls (INT + EXT) do not ring on handsets

We now have a few yealinks out there that have this issue, The latest one we have the base firmware is (25:73:23:3) and when i use the same credentials on my own test yealink this works (F/W 25:50:23:3) is this a possible bug within the firmware?

We also use an auto provision server.

Any help would be great!

Thanks in advance Smile

We just upgraded a couple of phones to v29.80.0.60 firmware and this caused the VLANs to stop working on the phone. I have a voice VLAN which it will not pick up currently.

Anyone else run into this?
Is this a bug in the new firmware?

Hi,

I have a YealinkT42G with the last FW - T42-29.80.0.70.rom. I get a file in my tftpserver that is MAC-boot.log and i don want to get it by default, i added in the provisioning file this lines:

syslog.mode = 0
syslog.log_level = 0

And I still get the file.

Is there any way to disable this log?

Thank you.

3CX/T4X not provisioning via HTTPS

Hello,
We have purchased a wilcard ssl cert for our pbx server (RapidSSL) - and all web pages load in a variety of browsers properly. However, whenever our Yealink phones attempt to auto provision via HTTPS, they fail. When we adjust the auto-provision server line to be http instead, it works fine.

Why doesn't yealink seem to trust the certificate?
I have tried addung the certificate manually in the phone Certificates page, but still nothing.

Any ideas?

I have factory reset the phone - added the https provisioning link, allowed it to "complete" unsuccessfully, and generated the log file.
