Security Concerns regarding the AES key encryption using factory default key

$

Hi all
During the phone initial auto provisioning, the MAC oriented encryption AES key is delivered via the MAC_Security.enc file, which is encrypted with Yealink factory default key.

I am wondering whether there is possibility that the factory default key is leaked via special engineering method, like TTL, hack into the phone OS, etc.

Hi,
iam using T46S with Firmware Version 66.83.0.35 ,
after factory reset it field : features.pickup.direct_pickup_code = is empty ,
when i provision it with some value , for example: features.pickup.direct_pickup_code = ** it is successfully setup, but when i provision it again with empty value :
features.pickup.direct_pickup_code =
value will not change .
Using site to configure this param we can setup it as empty.

Is there any way to setup this as empty value using provisioning or this is some bug ?

Thank you for any help

Dear Sir or Madam
Every time yealinkencrypt command is triggered, lots of files generated.
Is it possible to add parameter to control to create specific file needed?
Like MAC_Security.enc, as we use other program language to auto encrypt the plain configuration.

./yealinkencrypt -f eeeeddddefff.cfg -p ./Encrypted -k aaaabbbbccccdddd

./Encrypted/eeeeddddefff.cfg
./Encrypted/eeeeddddefff_Security.enc
./Encrypted/Aeskey.txt

T46G - Line Call Forwarding to External #

$

Equipment:
Yealink T46G - I have one phone, no PBX, Connected directly to modem, 5 incoming SIP lines.
Version:
Firmware Version 28.83.0.35
Hardware Version 28.1.0.128.0.0.0

Problem: Call forwarding is set for busy lines, and no answer to an external line. It stopped working this spring, and I have been unable to find the solution to properly troubleshoot.

What happens now:
The phone's screen says Forward to: [the programmed #], there is a brief busy signal, and the call is dropped.

What I tried:
I thought it might have been an issue with my virtual voice mail service, but it won't forward to any other number either. I have updated the software, I have reset the phone to factory specs, and I have followed the tutorials, and now have invested more time and energy into this than I care to admit.

Either the software has a glitch, or I missed something.

Please help me.

Multicast Paging Across 3 Facilities?

$

I'm in negotiations with a VOIP provider to install 130+ Yealink handsets across three buildings connected with fiber-optics. The provider will host the pbx (3CX I believe) and manage the phone system.

First they told me that I could not page outside of the POE switch the phone was attached to, then they changed their story to I could page any phone connected to any switch inside the building, but cannot page outside of the building.

They are telling me though that this system is incapable of multicast paging across all three buildings. Nothing in the manuals indicate any sort of limitations other than all the phones need to be on the same subnet, but even that can be mitigated with VLANs.

They tell me I can multicast an entire building from any phone in that building, but I cannot page all three buildings at once. Another provider told me that what I want is possible, but not with a hosted solution, the PBX would have to be onsite. With the hosted solution they need to use a STUN server and a Session Border Controller that disables multicast capabilities across the entire system.

If I can intercom any phone in the system, doesn't it follow that I should be able to page all phones in the system? (I'm assuming dialing extensions between buildings works, but I also assumed a system-wide page would work, as it does with our 20year old Nortel system).

Thanks,
Frustrated IT Guy

Hi all,
I have a simple question.
I configured 802.1x with EAP TLS, I upload all certs.
But where I can check the 802.1 Status after reboot?

I found nothing on phone menu or on phone web terminal.

I set local log Level on debug, Export the log and look for 802.1x or EAP, but I found nothing? Do I really Need wireshark? Hope not :-)

Is there a log / Status etc we I can check the actual 802.1x status?

Thank you

Hendrik

T42G latest fw phone web interface invalid password

$

I recently flashed a T42G with the latest firmware 29.83.0.35, I am now unable to log into the web interface on the phone.

From the phones keypad I can enter the password and access the settings, but the same password is no longer working for the web interface (which I used to flash the phone).

What's the best method of restoring access to the web interface ?

I have flashed several T42G phones with this firmware and none of the others have exhibited this behavior.

Thanks

W41P Shortfalls, I'm in trouble.

So I was originally very excited about the prospect of deskphones being able to be wireless while not relying on end-users shotty home-grade wifi access points. But We just set up our first W41P system with one W60B and three T41S's with the DDK DECT dongles, and you seem to lose the whole point of having a deskphone in the first place. So be warned if you're thinking of deploying these for a customer.
Sure they sound great and don't rely on WiFi, but you lose 99% of the DSS key functions. No BLF, no call park, no XML.

Almost all menus are disabled once you are in DECT mode, so the T41S basically becomes a W56H with a cord. Although with the W56H, at least you get an easy way to transfer calls from one handset to another.

I think there's lots of promise with DECT and deskphones, and I am a loyal Yealink VAR, but just want to share my frustration and hopefully prevent someone else from having to high of expectations from a new feature model.

I've got a new t46s setup here and plugged in the plantronics H series (hw510) headset I had been using on my old phone. and get no audio when using the headset button. Is there something I am missing? It should just plug into the headset port and you push the button to use it correct?

T48G Incoming Transfer Ring Question

$

May apply to other phones, not sure, but is an issue on t48g:

T48G, rings on first blind transfer from another phone, 2nd simultaneous blind transfer, while she is still on the t48g with the first transfer, does not ring on t48g, just scrolls a note that there is an incoming transfer. How do I make it ring on all transfers to the t48g, so it is more obvious to the t48g user that a transferred call is coming in to her phone, evenif she is already on a call?

So if this actually happened, where do I set it (phone does have call waiting enabled, and call waiting tone is enabled, but she says she does not hear any tone, and wants RING anyway):
Firmware is: 35.83.0.35

Hi,

Finally the feature is accepted by our product department and it will be desinged in V81 firmware.(Since the V80 is not desgined as "feature adding" firmware)

According to the design it seems that there will be three options, call waiting tone, ring, silent.

James

KeSet phone operation

Hello,
In our voice network we use the ip device openstage from Unify with OpenScape Voice softswith.
IP phones openstage can work in KeySet mode. This means that a connection profile is created in the global configuration, and the sip line data is entered directly into the button in the Line mode (UserID, Realm and Password). In this mode, the device allows you to monitor other devices in the system but it does not use the BLF.
Monitoring of other devices is done through the setting of the DSS button with SIP credentials of another subscriber.
